Agony

Agony is a 1992 horizontally-scrolling shoot-'em-up developed by the Belgian studio Art & Magic and published by Psygnosis for the Commodore Amiga. The player controls Acanthropsis, a sorcerer-turned-owl flying through painted dreamscapes of mountain peaks, swamps and ancient temples. Renowned at the time for its richly illustrated parallax backgrounds, hand-drawn enemies and a much-praised classical score by Tim Wright ("CoLD SToRAGE"), the game is widely cited as one of the most visually striking Amiga shooters of its generation (Wikipedia)
