Alien is a 1979 science-fiction horror film directed by Ridley Scott, written by Dan O'Bannon and starring Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley. The crew of the commercial spaceship Nostromo encounter a deadly extraterrestrial creature aboard their ship; its biomechanical design by H.R.
