Batman & Robin is a 1997 American superhero film directed by Joel Schumacher, the fourth in the original Warner Bros. Batman series begun by Tim Burton in 1989. George Clooney takes over as Batman, joined by Chris O'Donnell's Robin and Alicia Silverstone's Batgirl as they face Mr. Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger), Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman) and Bane.
