Philip Michael Thomas

Philip Michael Thomas (born 26 May 1949) is an American actor and singer best known for playing detective Ricardo Ricardo Tubbs opposite Don Johnson's Crockett on the NBC series Miami Vice (1984--1990). Alongside the role he pursued a parallel career in music, releasing the 1985 R&B/funk album Living the Book of My Life and its hit single "Just the Way I Planned It" (Wikipedia)
