Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog is a Japanese video-game franchise created by Sega in 1991, headed by an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog with super-speed who serves as the company's mascot. Designed by Naoto Ohshima with gameplay by Yuji Naka and level art by Hirokazu Yasuhara, the original Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) for the Mega Drive / Genesis was conceived as Sega's flagship rival to Nintendo's Mario, and the series has since spanned more than 80 games, comics, animated television series and, since 2020, a successful live-action/CGI film franchise (Wikipedia)
