C-3PO is a humanoid protocol droid in the Star Wars franchise, fluent in over six million forms of communication and built by a young Anakin Skywalker on Tatooine. He appears in every numbered episode of the saga and is almost always accompanied by his astromech counterpart R2-D2 (Wikipedia)
