The Shining

The Shining is a 1980 psychological horror film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick, co-written by Kubrick and Diane Johnson, and based on the 1977 novel by Stephen King. Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) takes a job as off-season caretaker of the isolated Overlook Hotel, where he, his wife Wendy (Shelley Duvall) and their psychic son Danny are gradually overwhelmed by supernatural forces.
