The Three Stooges

The Three Stooges were an American vaudeville and comedy team active from 1922 until 1970, best known for their 190 short subjects produced by Columbia Pictures between 1934 and 1959. The act revolved around physical slapstick and absurdist humour delivered by the trio -- most famously Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Curly Howard, with later replacements Shemp Howard, Joe Besser and "Curly Joe" DeRita -- whose eye-pokes, head-conks and rapid-fire wordplay became a cornerstone of American screen comedy (Wikipedia)
