Kraftwerk

Kraftwerk are a German electronic band formed in Düsseldorf in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider. With the run of albums Autobahn (1974), Radio-Activity (1975), Trans-Europe Express (1977), The Man-Machine (1978) and Computer World (1981) they pioneered the use of synthesisers, drum machines and vocoders, and laid the template for synth-pop, electro, techno and hip-hop production for decades to come. Their stage shows -- with the four members standing motionless behind synthesiser podia -- have become one of the defining images of electronic music (Wikipedia)
