Space Invaders

Space Invaders is an arcade shoot 'em up developed by Tomohiro Nishikado and released in Japan by Taito in 1978. The player controls a laser cannon at the bottom of the screen, defending Earth against descending rows of alien invaders. One of the earliest and most influential video games ever made, it transformed the still-young arcade industry, introduced the high-score table to a generation of players and remains an iconic symbol of the medium (Wikipedia)
