Submit Artwork

• Clean screenshots with no demo effects, scrolltext, or overlaid sprites
• 384×272px, or larger for scrolling artwork (full image plus a 384×272px crop)
• A valid C64 colour palette (16 colours maximum)
• PNG for static images, GIF for animated — a GIF holding a single frame is converted to PNG for you

Capturing in VICE

The standard method is to grab a VICE screenshot (ideally in PAL) at 384×272px. Aim for these border dimensions:

• Top: 35px · Bottom: 37px
• Left & right: 32px each

Palette

Images must use at most 16 colours from a valid C64 palette. If you're struggling to get the colours right, use a known palette such as Pepto.

Filename format — auto-fills the fields

Name files as [order-]name[-TAGS][-artistID(s)].png and the sub-name, tags and artist IDs are filled in for you:

• An optional leading number sets the display order.
• The name becomes the sub-name (CamelCase is split into words, e.g. TitleScreen → "Title Screen"). Names containing logo or font are auto-tagged.
• Tags use their short codes; combine several in one part with _.
• Artist IDs are CSDb scener IDs; combine several with _.
• Add XXX (alone or joined to a code with _) to mark the image 18+ (adult content).

Examples:

• Dragon.png → sub-name "Dragon"
• 01-TitleScreen-MC.png → order 1, "Title Screen", Multicolour
• Hawkeye-HI_FLI-1197.png → "Hawkeye", Hi-res + FLI, artist 1197
• Skyline-MC-137_255.png → "Skyline", Multicolour, artists 137 & 255
• 01-NakedLady-MC_XXX-19.png → "Naked Lady", Multicolour, artist 19, marked 18+
• Scrolling: Panorama-full.png + Panorama.png (full image + 384×272 crop)
• Interlaced: Face-lace1.png + Face-lace2.png
