MAD Magazine

MAD is an American humour magazine launched in 1952 by editor Harvey Kurtzman and publisher William Gaines at EC Comics. Originally a comic book before converting to magazine format in 1955 to escape Comics Code oversight, MAD was famous for its irreverent satire of advertising, politics, films and television, and for the gap-toothed grinning face of mascot Alfred E. Neuman ("What, me worry?") on virtually every cover. After a peak circulation of more than two million in the 1970s the print edition wound down to reprints in 2019 (Wikipedia)
